Stay motivated when facing challenge times in your business

Have you had some challenging times in your business? You know those days where every going wrong. A couple of days ago, I had one of those situations where you feel like giving up. I was working on last minute updates for a webinar. Everything was going as planned until for some crazyyyyy reason all my slides disappeared. I was only an hour away from my live event, and all my visual content was gone. You can imagine how stressful this situation was for me. I try to find my work on my computer only to find out that the file was empty. I knew I wouldn't be able to recreate all the slide before the webinar and I didn't want to disappoint my followers by canceling the event. I was just about to give up, but I decided to make this happen. I grab my webinar plan (a good thing that I still use paper and pen) and work on creating the most relevant slides. I was working non-stop until the last second before the live event.

I'm glad that I didn't give up. Not only I had a good webinar, but I also sold some programs through that event.

Sometimes life through at us challenging time where we feel like everything we do to try to achieve our goal is not going the way we had planned. Life has some up and down. There will be some days that everything will go perfectly and some days that nothing goes the way you had anticipated. That happens to everyone, from the most successful entrepreneur to the first time business owner.

I've been in business for several years, and I know that most of the challenge that I faced in my businesses came out to be a good thing at the end. These challenging times will make you grow, bring you to a different place and make you appreciate those little victories.

Attitude

The most important aspect is the way you respond to those challenging times. When you react to those events in a negative way, you are just making the situation worse; you will feel stress, fatigue and depress. Instead, look at the situation in a positive way. What can you learn from that situation? What can you do to change that situation? I'm not saying that you should be happy no matter the outcome. That's okay to feel sad, to cry, to be frustrated, but those emotions should not affect you all day or make you quite what you try to accomplish. Instead, use this challenging time to motivate you.

Positive routine

Having a positive morning routine is also a great way to stay motivated. If the first thing you do in the morning is to watch the news, arguments with your husband, to look at all your emails or to feel frustrated, those negative activities will affect you during your day. During the morning your brain is like a sponge and absorb the first energy we send to the brain. What is the first thing you do in the morning? If you spend times to meditate, be grateful, journaling, doing yoga, those activities will help you set positive vibes for the rest of the day. If you start your day right, you will be more likely to bounce back at those challenging times.

Take a break, but don't quit

Nothing wrong with taking a day off, but don't quit. If you quit after the first obstacle, you will never succeed. Did you know that the chicken soup for the soul book by Jack Canfield had 130 rejections before a publisher give him a chance? Now, he sold more than 8 million copies and been translated into 39 languages. Always remember that the only way to succeed is never to give up.

Simple things to do

If you had a rough day and you just want to give (please don't) just set three tasks that you will do during the day that will bring you closer from your goal.

Sometimes life through at us more that a challenging day or week. Sometimes life sends us a bigger challenge, depression, burn out, sick time. Believe me; I've been there. For those of you who don't know a couple of years ago a had a depression. At that time a had a business, and I needed to work in order of bringing income.

When those challenging times feel like months, even year going by, try to find three things to go every day. Try to set yourself simple tasks. If you are really in bad time, those tasks can be as simple as getting up from bed at taking a shower, calling a friend or reading a good book. Believe me, you will be so proud of yourself for doing those simple tasks, and slowly those tasks will bring you to a better place.

Don't forget to reach for help if you need to. Reaching for help is not a sign of weakness is a sign of strength.
