I think every blogger should use a grammar tool to check misspelling words and errors. No matter if you think you are a good writer or if you don't write often. As a blogger, it's important to create the best article as possible.

Generate new content for your blog is time-consuming and proofreading just can be frustrated. With a good grammar checker, this can become more enjoyable.

As you might know, English is not my mother language. I'm a French-Canadian who move in the west coast ten years ago. When I started blogging, I was always bothering my boyfriend (who is a native English speaker) to check my content. I rapidly knew I needed to look at another solution.

A few months ago, I finally decided to give Grammarly a try. I tried several grammar checkers, but Grammarly is the tool I recommend to every blogger. This tool gives my the confidence in my writing and also help me learn and improve my English. Grammarly doesn't only check your grammar mistakes but also give you explication and recommendation.

Grammarly

What is Grammarly?

Grammarly is a grammar checker with over 250 advanced grammar rules. You can download a browser extension to get automatic proofreading while writing online. What I like the most about this tool is they have a contextual spelling checker that remove embarrassing mistakes. Grammarly can suggest you words that will help you remove repetitive words or improve the readability of your article.

How Grammarly works ?

First, sign up for a free account with them. After you sign for the basic plan, you will be able to use Grammarly. Grammarly will correct your document for

  • contextual spelling
  • grammar
  • punctuation
  • sentence structure
  • style

You can download a full document or copy and paste your blog to start the correction.

There are two ways to can use Grammarly. You can use it in your web browser or as a Microsoft Office add-on. Both options offer the same useful recommendation.

Grammarly free vs. premium

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to upgrade my free version to a premium account. This gives me access to 100+ advanced grammar check. The feature also enables a vocabulary enhancement that finds words that are repeated and suggest you other words with similar meaning.

Another great feature with the premium account is the plagiarism-detection tool. The plagiarism checks more than 8 million web pages to detect if something in the document as been copied from somewhere else.

Grammarly

Grammarly vs. free online grammar checkers

As I mention, I used several online grammar checkers, and the problem with most of them is that they don't don the correction for contextual spelling or sentence structure. Most of them, offer only grammar and punctuation check. Several of them have a limit of words you can check at one time and are loaded with ads. With Grammarly, you get a full review of your document.

If you don't want to pay for the premium plan, then you can sign up for the free version and download the browser extension (available for Chrome, Mozilla, and Safari).
