As bloggers or online business owners, we rely heavily on the internet to grow our businesses. It is fundamental to build your web presence every day in order to stay in the game. Just sharing your new blog post once in while in different Facebook groups, will not be enough to increase your web presence.
Every day I promote my content and my business. It doesn't make any difference whether you are a small local business, a blogger or an international company, you need to have a strong web presence if you want to grow your business.
If you wonder how much time you should spend promoting your business or content, you can use the 50/50 rule. This simply means that you should spend as much time promoting your content as you do creating your content. This might sound a lot for some of you, but what is the point of creating a new content if nobody sees what you create?
Today, I'm sharing with you my daily and weekly activities that I do that help me grow my business and gain more clients.
Be active on my social media accounts
The first thing I do every day is to pop on all my social media platforms and not only promote my content but also build relationships and answer any question that I might have. I also make sure to thank as many people as I can for sharing my content on social media. This is something very important to me. If someone took the time out to share your content, the least you can do is acknowledge that.
You don't have to be on every social media platform to have a strong web presence. In fact, I recommend to choose two or three social media platforms that your ideal client will be on and to master those platforms before you move to another one.
Be active in social media groups
I love social media groups. They are an excellent way to gain more visibility and network with other like-minded entrepreneurs. You can join Facebook groups, Pinterest group boards or even LinkedIn groups.
The key to making social media groups work is to engage with people; you can’t just promote your own content and leave. You will have way more success in your business if you have others out there who are promoting your business for you because you have taken the time to build connections and relationships.
Respond to every comment
It is very important for me to answer every comment that I might have on my blog, on my social media accounts or personal emails. I try my best to answer everyone within 48 hours.
I don't know about you but when I go on social media, the whole point is to be social. I expect people to acknowledge my comments when they are asking questions. Even giving a little thumbs up can be enough. Of course, I get it! We receive so many notifications that we can sometimes forget some important comments. However, the idea is to do your best to respond to every comment you receive.
You might wonder what is the benefit of taking a couple extra minutes to respond to someone? First, it encourages your readers to comment. Have you been on a blog post where the comments section is full of one-sided conversations? What are the chances that you would leave your own comment? Probably very low since it doesn’t seem like you would get a response from the blogger anyway.
The second reason to respond to your audience is to build credibility and relationships with them. Many times, the comments and questions I receive help me to create better content for my readers. Responding to comments will help you stand out from the crowd and become that go-to expert in your niche.
Build relationships with other bloggers and influencers
I have to admit that when I started my blog, I didn't believe in the power of networking. Now, networking with other bloggers and influencers in my industry has become one of my favorite daily activities that helps me to grow my business.
Build my email list with free content
This is one of my important daily tasks. I never miss an opportunity to grow my email list. As you might notice, most of my blog posts offer a special freebie. This allows me to give extra advice on a specific subject and grow my email list. My email list helps me to build engagement with my community and also monetize my business.
Create high-quality content every week
No matter what type of content you choose to create ( e.g. a new video, blog post or podcast),the most important thing is to do so constantly and consistently. Creating high-quality content that is relevant for your audience and that your audience will want to share is very important to increasing your online presence.
Send an email to my list
It's very important to not only have an email list but also to nurture your email list. Keep in mind that your subscribers are people that raised their hands to hear more about you and your business. Treat them with respect and send them weekly news or tips and they will be more likely to buy from you down the road.
Remember that growing your online presence is a never-ending task and the key to success is consistency. You can't grow a successful business by promoting your content heavily one day and disappearing for the several days or even weeks.
